WAVES NATIONAL BYLAWS 2002 PROPOSED AMENDMENTS
BEGINNING ON THIS PAGE ARE THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO WN BYLAWS 2002. THESE CHANGES WILL BE VOTED ON BY WN MEMBERS AT THE CONVENTION IN PHILADELPHIA.
PRESENT WORDING OF BYLAWS 2002	PROPOSED AMENDMENT
#11. ARTICLE VI. Section 6. Appointed Officers. The Appointed Officers of WN shall be a Corresponding Secretary (optional), an Editor, a Historian, and a Parliamentarian, appointed by the newly elected President with the approval of the other newly elected officers.	Amend Article VI, Section 6, by inserting Ship’s Store Officer after Parliamentarian as follows: The Appointed Officers of WN shall be a Corresponding Secretary, an Editor, a Historian, a Parliamentarian, and a Ship’s Store Officer, appointed… Submitted by Jan Roy. Reason: To add additional Appointed Officer.

#12. ARTICLE VI. Section 7.A. Duties of Appointed Officers (Corresponding Secretary) 2. Notify by mail the members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of meetings at least fifteen days prior to the date set for the meeting.	Amend Article VI, Section 7.A.2. by rewording sentence which was previously adopted. New wording is as follows: 2. Notify the members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee by mail of meetings at least fifteen days prior to the date set for the meeting. #13. ARTICLE VI, Section 7.B. (Editor) 2. Compile and edit information for WHITE CAPS submitted by members or units of WN before forwarding to printer.	Amend Article VI, 7.B. 2, by substituting new paragraph 2 as follows: 2. Compile and edit information for WHITE CAPS submitted by members or units of WN before forwarding to the President for review and editing. The President shall then forward it to the publisher. Submitted by Jan Roy Reason: President must approve WC before forwarding to publisher. She submits final draft to publisher.

#14. ARTICLE VI. Section 7 - Duties of Appointed Officers Add paragraph E.	Amend Article VI, Section 7 by adding a paragraph E. to read: E. The Ship’s Store Officer shall: 1. Maintain inventory of WN items, and process orders from members for such items. 2. Prepare monthly financial statements indicating receipts and disbursements, and furnish said reports to the President and Treasurer. 3. Purchase new items for Ship’s Store, with the approval of the President. 4. Update Ship’s Store order form for each issue of White Caps, and submit articles for White Caps on a regular basis.
